Funeral services were held at 2:30 Wednesday afternoon for A.E. roper, 67, father of Mrs. James G. Jordan of Murchison, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Helen Scarborough, in Palestine Tuesday afternoon. Burial was at Olive Branch cemetery. Services were conducted by Rev. J.R. Lockhart of LaRue and Rev. T.M. Dean of Concord.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Beulah Roper; four daughters, Mrs. W.L. Herrington and Mrs. Betty Doyle of Frankston, Mrs. James G. Jordan of Murchison, Mrs. Helen Scarborough of Palestine; and four sisters, Mrs. Sally Ellis, Palestine; Mrs. Essie Copeland, Marshall; Mrs. Silas Rogers, Palestine and Mrs. Jeff Rawleigh, Ennis.
