He was born in New Hanover County, NC to William J. and Topsie Lou Dixon Adams.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Mount Olive Freewill Baptist Church in Wade by Dr. John McDowell. Burial will be in Rockfish Memorial Park.
Mr. Adams is survived by a son, Joseph Adams of the home; two brothers, Clifton Adams of Philadelphia and Matthew L. Adams of Fayetteville; and five sisters, Willie M. Fort of Stedman, Clennie Herring of Vander, Carolyn Ellis of Port Chester, N.Y.., Naomi McLaurin of Fayetteville and Gloria Chisoln of Wade.
A viewing will be held today from 1 to 8 p.m. at Wiseman Mortuary.
