Xavier "Zip" Surque, 86, of New Haven died March 10, 1992 in Brighton Hall Nursing Center.
The Cecil, Ohio, native retired in 1969 from International Harvester, Co. after forty-three and a half years. He was the widower of Florence, who died in 1987 and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, its Holy Name society, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.
Surviving are a daughter , Sandra Johnston of New Haven; a sister, Virginia Surque of Hicksville, Ohio, and two grandchildren.
Father: Francis Xavier Seraphin Surque b. 5 OCT 1862 in Etueffont,bas, Haut-Rhine, France; son of Xavir Surque and Marie Antoinette Reiniche. Came to the United States in 1887. Was united in marriage to Annie Lalonde 20 NOV 1894 in Cecil, Ohio. Resided on his farm south of Cecil until death 10 DEC 1918. Survived by wife Annie and five children: Marie, Alfred, Charles, Virginia, and Xavier; one sister residing in France, one sister, residing in New Bedford, Mass; and several other relatives residing in France
