Lydia is the daughter of Edmond M. Haynes and Amanda "Dolly" M. (Foster) Haynes who are buried in the Converse Cemetery. She was their second born and had 10 brothers and 3 sisters.

She married the farmer William Thomas Flook on December 26th, 1897 in Wabash County, Indiana. Between 1898 and 1919 they had 5 daughters named in the order of their birth: Ethel Della, Clara M, Opal Myrtle, Ellen N, and Hazel Mae.

The census of 1920 and 1930 show their family living in Center Township, Grant Co., Indiana.

Her husband died more than 40 years before Eydia did and he is buried in the same cemetery as his parents but not that of his wife. At the time of her death she was living in the "Riverside Manor Nursing Home".
