There is a death index at familysearch.org for 23 October, 1884 in Evergreen, Montcalm, Michigan, USA for 'traveling salesman' who is unmarried by the name of J E Abbott (which is likely incorrectly transcribed, but the record is not available for viewing) - which may indicate I E (or Ira Elbridge) Abbott; birth place Vermont and age 38, although per his birth record he would have been 40 years, 7 months at his demise. Still, this is likely his death record.
