Dean D. McGraw, 82, of Coatesville, passed away on Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was the beloved husband of Dorcas Raugh McGraw, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage.
Born in North Woodbury, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Kathryn Detwiler McGraw.
Dean was a 1945 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School in Martinsburg.
Before his retirement in 2004, he owned McGraw Construction, installing utility lines for builders.
Dean loved sports, especially baseball. He played in the county's adult baseball leagues until he was 47, pitching for Caln AA in the Coatesville League and for Rubinstein's in the West Chester League.
In addition to his wife, Mr. McGraw is survived by his children, Cathy Murphy and her husband, Patrick, of Honey Brook, Edwin McGraw and his wife, Myra, of Yorba Linda, Calif., and Beth McGraw of North Wales; brother, Bernard McGraw of Martinsburg; sisters, Mildred Bowser of Hopewell, Leona Ruggles of Roaring Spring and Eunice McGraw of Martinsburg; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. Another visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 29, at the John C. Bolger Funeral Home, 111 E Allegheny St., Martinsburg.
A graveside service will take place at 3 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.
