RICHLAND CENTER - Stanley Leon Adsit, 70, passed away at home surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, January 21, 2010. He was born January 31, 1939, in Boaz, to Ernest and Verda (nee: Faith) Adsit, one of six children. He served in the Army of the United States of America. On February 3, 1959, he was united in marriage with Inez I. Ward in Milwaukee, then moved to Union Grove until 1979. They worked together in businesses, Midway Equipment Painting, Union Grove Taxi, Boaz One Stop, Mini Mountain Recreations, Rocks Unlimited, and more. He was not just self-employed but sometimes had a second job, including American Motors, trucking, and more. He loved to work and play life to the fullest with family and friends. "He flew his dream" in his airplanes, riding motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends. He was an entrepreneur, inventor, and artist. Always coming up with new ideas and leaving his mark in this world with many projects including Blackhawk and Elvis sculptures, rocks, waterfalls, one-piece rural mailbox, beasties, refurbishing old trucks/car, the Mini Golf course with petting zoo, and more. He enjoyed watching families having fun, spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grand- children, and friends. He also enjoyed traveling, casinos, special occasions, and always helping others. Stan is survived by his five children, Tom Schultz, Connie Adsit (Tim Hoppenjan), Stanley Dean (Betty) Adsit, Michael (Terri) Adsit, and Kent (Christy) Adsit; sister, Sharon Adsit; 15 grandchildren, LaTrisha (Dusty) Marklein, Tonya (Jeremy) Martin, Melissa (Dennis) Pierick, Curtis (Maryrose Prine) Bailey, Tim (Sara) Bailey, Justin Schultz, and Haley, Noah, Michael Jr., Victoria, Jonathan, Jesse, Alec, Hannah, and Gracie Adsit; and 10 great-grandchildren, McKenzie, MaKayla, Remy, Ethan, Alaina, Jalene, Dennissa, Eva, Sati, and Timothy; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Stan was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Inez; sisters, Ham, Betty, Bess, and Sal; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Monday, January 25, 2010, at 11 a.m., at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with Rev. Craig Peach officiating. Burial followed in the Dayton Corners Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites provided by the Local Military Memorial Honors Unit. The family suggests that memorials in Stan's name be given to Walk with Grace.
