Obituary:
Mrs. Frances Elizabeth Chapman, aged 54 of route 2, Mt. Home wife of Edgar Chapman died Jan 29, in a local hospital. Funeral services were held at 2pm Saturday at Fairview Methodist Church of Buford with Bro. Opie Hargrave officiating. Hargrave officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of the McClure Service.
Pallbearers were Carl Coy, Armel Hughes, Dewey Cantrell, John Fleming, Joe Cantrell and Sidney Cantrell.
Mrs. Chapman a native of Missouri, was born Nov 4, 1909, the daughter of the late Fred Acklin and Alice Baskins Acklin. She moved to Baxter County 44 years ago, and resided in the Shady Grove community, south of Mt. Home at the time of her death.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband, Edgar Chapman of the home; three sons, Lavern and Bobby Dean of Mt. Home and Verner Ray Chapman of Berryville; a daughter, Miss Jeanie Chapman of Mt. Home; three grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Alice Acklin of Mt. Home; tow brothers, Harvey Acklin of Clinton, MO. and Delbert Acklin, with the US Air Force; three sisters, Mrs. Goldie Cantrell of Blairstown, MO. Mrs. Lorene Fleider of Grandview MO. and Mrs. Marie Kefauver of Maryland.
