Albert Maurer was born at Johnsonville, moving to Glenbeulah after his father died and operating the grist mill there and later, the grain warehouse. He married Mary Sinz whose father Peter ran a hotel in Glenbeulah, and they had a son Robert and daughters Bertha and Meta. The Dillingham Co was part owner of the grain operation, and in 1889 when it set up a furniture company in Sheboygan, Albert moved there and became a manufacturers' rep and salesman. He built a house at 1803 North 7th St which stayed in the family until 1972. Around 1908 he opened an auto service garage on 8th St and ran it for several years.
