Betty M. Mullhatten, Galesburg Chapel
71, of 98 Sheldon St., Galesburg died at 4:50 AM Monday January 25, 2010 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center.
She was born January 20, 1939 in Alexis, IL the daughter of Joseph Sylvester and Vera Helen Wall Riggs. She married Thomas C. Mullhatten, Sr. on September 28, 1957 in Burlington, IA. He died July 13, 1986.
She is survived by two sons, Leon Mullhatten of PA and Thomas Carr Mullhatten, Jr. of Galesburg; three daughters, Betsy Lee (Milo) Likes and Helen (Steve) Medina, both of Galesburg and Karen (Ricky) England of Rock Springs, WY; a brother, Dale (Shirley) Riggs of Galesburg; a sister, Joyce Norris of Galesburg; thirteen grandchildren, Tammy (Chris) Folger, Milo Likes, Jr., Thomas Likes, Racheal Medina, Steve Medina, Jr., Blaine Mullhatten, Sabrina Johnson, Atricia (Geno) Ramo, Samantha (Chris) Damitz, Bradley Mullhatten, Tabatha Mullhatten, Robert Mullhatten, Ashley England; and eight great grandchildren, Trevor Folger, Casey Folger, Mackenzie Taylor, Shawn Taylor, Jr., Malia Ramo, Hailey Damitz, Chris Damitz, Jr. and Addisyn Mullhatten. She was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Riggs.
She was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Knox County Nursing Home. She retired in 1991. She graduated from Galesburg High School in 1957 and Carl Sandburg College Nursing Program in 1973. She enjoyed Bowling, Bingo, and going to the Boat.
Graveside services are scheduled for 11:30 AM Friday January 29, 2010 at Henderson Cemetery, Henderson, IL. The Rev. Milton Marquith will officiate. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 AM Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences may be made at www.h-p-w.com.
