Benjamin was the son of Marshall and Elizabeth Ivey Nance. It is presumed that both Marshall and Elizabeth are buried at North Bend Cemetery as the cemetery is located on or very near land that Marshall once owned. There are several slate markers in the cemetery that are no longer readable.
