Joella Edwards Dugger was the eldest daughter of George Walter Edwards and Eliza Price. She was born in White County, Arkansas near Beebe and received her education in local schools. When she was seventeen, she married Wylie Dugger who was 18 years her senior. They had the following children: Clarence, James, Ethel, Lottie, Theophilis (died young), Homer, Milbon and Izora. Her husband died in 1909 leaving her to raise her small children alone. She herself passed away in 1912 leaving her younger children orphans. Milbon was raised by his sister Ethel and Izora was raised by her sister Lottie. The family remained close all of their lives and remembered their parents fondly.
