Funeral for Mrs. Alsbra Markum, former resident of Jean, were conducted from the Abilene Church of Chirst with Homer Hailey, minister, officiating.

Burial was in the Jean cemetery by the side of her husband, Charles Markum, who passed away in 1935. Kerbow F.H. in charge.

Mrs. Markum died at her home in Abilene following a heart attack Oct. 14.

Survivors: six children – Cecil of Newcastle; Dewey of San Angelo; Mrs. Charley Davis of Fort Worth; Mrs. L.O. Buchanan of Lubbock; Mrs. W.M. Mullins and Mrs. Clint Holdreth of Abilene; 5 grand; 2 great; 2 sisters – Mrs. Mae Griffith of Fort Worth, Mrs. Willie Williams of San Pablo, CA.
