Services for J. Fred Brown 1533 S. 3rd St., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Prince of Peace Lutheran Church with the Rev. W. H. Janke, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Rose Room of Bruce Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Wednesday until 9:45 a.m. Thursday when the casket will be taken to the church.
Mr. Brown was dead on arrival at Trinity Regional Hospital Tuesday morning. He had been in ill health for some time.
Surviving are his wife, Mirian (sic); sons, Jerry, Duane, Tom and David Brown, all of Fort Dodge; Dr. Eugene Brown, Webster City; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters and brothers, Mrs. Walter Lohr, Mrs. Hugh Harris and Clarence Brown, all of Fort Dodge, and Albert Brown, California.
J. Fred Brown was born at Judd and attended the area rural schools. He married Marian (sic) L. Scharf in Fort Dodge in 1925. The couple farmed for eight years in the Judd area, and moved to Fort Dodge about 48 years ago. Mr. Brown was employed by the United States Gypsum company, retiring in 1966.
