The former Lorene Steele was born September 12, 1924, in Pickford, to James Steele and Janet (Stewart) Steele.
She worked for many years in the Port Huron area. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and fishing. Family members and friends remember her for her Christmas fruitcake, fried green tomatoes, and her great sense of humor.
Lorene Nunn was survived by her husband, Vere Nunn, whom she married on June 23, 1948 in St. Ignace; a sister, Ruby Ruona of Alma; one brother, Greeley Steele of Marysville, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Isabelle Owaski, Dorothy Anderson and Inez Nordstrom, and by one brother, Bill Steele.
