Ralph George Akers, 67, of Foy Avenue, died Monday, April 17, 2000, at Golden Age Nursing Home.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Nan Patton Cemetery in Galax, Va.

Mr. Akers was born June 4, 1932, in Grayson County, Va., to Bufford Akers and Lula Crowder Akers. He was a resident of Lexington for 15 years and was a self-employed painter.

Surviving are two brothers, Paul Akers of Fries, Va., and Jesse Akers of Lexington.
