FLORENCE E. ZUENDEL WELLER
1-1870 -- 10-14-1929

The sad news was received here Tuesday of the sudden death on Monday afternoon, Oct. 14, 1929, of Mrs. Florence Weller, wife of Benjamin J. Weller of Starr. She was a patient in the Spencer Hospital at Meadville, where she had undergone an operation for the removal of a goiter. She was recovering nicely from the operation and was thought soon to be able to return to her home, this being her condition when her husband called to see her Sunday. A sudden attack of heart failure ended her suffering at the time mentioned.

She was a daughter of Christopher and Catherine Zuendel, and was born 59 years ago last January at the Zuendel homestead at the mouth of Ross Run. 29 years ago she was united in marriage to Mr. Weller, since which time they have made their home at Starr.

In her death, the community where she resided has sustained a distinct loss. Having been born and spent her entire life in Kingsley Twp., she will be remembered as a loyal and true friend, always interested in those things which she knew to be for the uplift of the community, and her passing will be very greatly regretted by her many friends, who will cherish her memory.

Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Harold at home; a brother, Forest Zuendel of Meadville; and four sisters: Mrs. Samuel Davis of Jeanette; Mrs. B. F. Winans of Jamestown, N.Y.; Mrs. D. F. Carrier of Clarksburg, W. Va.; and Miss Tina of Starr.

Rev. Fred Smith of Franklin, assisted by Rev. Stang of Lickingville will conduct funeral services in her memory at the Zuendel church at 2:00 PM Thursday, interment to follow in the Zuendel cemetery.

A large attendance of sorrowing relatives and friends and many beautiful floral tributes evidenced the esteem in which the deceased was held.

Following is a list of relatives from a distance in attendance: Mrs. D. F. Carrier and daughter; Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Davis and son; Forest M. Zuendel; Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Winans and son Francis; Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Fox, Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Berry, Mrs. Earnest Barr, all of Jamestown; Mrs. L. D.
