SERVICES HELD FOR BOYD OARD

Services were held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home for Boyd Oard, 69, of Buckeye Township, who died Wednesday evening, Sept. 16, after an illness of one year. Born in Ottawa, Ohio, on Oct. 11, 1894, he came to Gladwin County in 1910. Mr. Oard was married on January 22, 1916, in Gladwin to the former Virgie Bushong who survives.
He was engaged in farming and also served for many years as secretary fo the Hay Township Unit and later of the Winegars High School board of education.
Survivors besides his wife include, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Brushaber, and Mrs. Betty Jean Myers, of Beaverton; three sons, Orville, Max and Gerald, of Gladwin; one brother, James, of Beaverton; and three sisters, Mrs. Irene King, of Gladwin; and Mrs. Mullens and Mrs. Lydia Sullivan, of Montana; 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The Rev. Gordon Showers officiated at the services and burial was in the Dale Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 09-23/1964 Column - 6 Page - 1
