TOMSON – AT 11 A.M. Sunday, September 29, 1889, Jennie Vann, youngest daughter of T.A. and K. Tomson. Funeral services Wednesday forenoon.

Deceased was born in Hardeman County, Tennessee, May 4, 1857. She was a lovely, bright and gentle child, but became a sufferer in girlhood, from which she never fully recovered.

In her disposition she was reserved, in manner quiet and unassuming, and but few, if any, ever became really acquainted with her. The death of her dear sister, less than three weeks prior to her own overwhelmed her with grief. She died in the midst of loved ones, her aged parents, only surviving sister, Mrs. J.M. Wright, and the entire family, save one, being present. Her death was typical of her life—peaceful and calm, and as she serenely breathed the departing breath she seemed to fall asleep in sweet repose.
"Asleep in Jesus! Blessed sleep,
From which none ever wakes to weep!
A calm and undisturbed repose,
Unbroken by the last of foes."
