Alvin F. Cooper, 47, of Rockwood died suddenly Friday, Sept. 23, 1988, at East Tennessee Baptist Hospital, Knoxville.

He was a member of White's Creek Baptist Church , an employee of Martin Marietta Y-12 and K-25 plants and a TSSAA officlial basketball referee.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Cooper in 1980.

He is survived by two daughters, Angela Johnston and Laura Cooper, both of Rockwood, his mother Naomi Cooper, Rockwood; two sisters, Nadine McLeod, Berea, Ky., and Phyllis Rossman, Greenville, Mich.; a brother , Lester Cooper, Nashville; a son-in-law, Mike Johnston, Rockwood; and two grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. in the Evans Mortuary Chapel, Rockwood, with the Rev. Hascue Carter and the Rev. Ernie Willis officiating. Burial was in Glen Alice Cemetery.
