She was the granddaughter of Commodore Barney of the Navy. She was married at Baltimore, in April, 1842, and left two sons, Frank and William. The former lives in Minneapolis, and the other in Washington. Besides these, she left six daughters, one of whom is the widow of Capt. Morris, who was in command of the Cumberland when it was sunk by the Merrimac. She died with her eight surviving children about her. Her age was fifty-six.
