Thomas Edward "Tommy" Hodge II, PFC, U.S. Army, 28, of Mount Solon, passed away unexpectedly January 9, 2010, at his home in Mount Solon while home on leave from his deployment in Iraq. He was born August 7, 1981, in Staunton. Tommy was a 1999 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and obtained his associate's degree in mechanical design from Blue Ridge Community College. Prior to enlisting in the Army, he worked for F.R. Drake Co. and McKee Foods. He was currently stationed in Iraq with the 4-31 10th Mountain Division. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Richard Auville, and his paternal grandfather, Russell Hodge. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Thomas Hodge and his wife, Lisa Hodge, of Waynesboro; his mother, Sharon Auville of Mount Solon; his children, Landon Hodge of Mount Solon and Dalilah Hodge of Dayton and their mother, Crystal Hodge; his maternal grandmother, Myrtle Auville of Manchester, Tenn.; his paternal grandmother, Helene Hodge of Charlottesville; his brother, Matthew Hodge of Waynesboro; his sister, Carissa Allen and her husband, William Allen, of Staunton; and his niece, Kayleigh Allen, and nephew, Graiden Allen.
