Juanita Thompson, 85, a resident of Carrier Mills, died 9:05 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at the Carrier Mills Nursing Home.
Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills with the Rev. Robert Abbott officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation is 11 a.m. to service time Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born April 20, 1920, in Saline County to the late Arvel and Bessie (Boatright) Hankins. On April 14, 1940, she married Earl Thompson, who preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 1974.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Ronald) Rann of Harrisburg and Earlene (Robert) Abbott of McLeansboro; a daughter-in-law, Ruby Thompson Bronke of Tamaroa; two sisters, Laura Mae Dobrey of Eldorado and Mildred (Orlie) Henshaw of Marion; five grandchildren, Trudy Reed and Ronita Murrie, both of Harrisburg, Ronald Rann Jr. of Evansville, Ind., Angela Ragan of McLeansboro and Jason Dunn of Springfield; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; one sister; and a son, Jessie Earl Thompson.
