The Kelly family was born in North Carolina and moved to Alabama in 1828. Ken lived in a log cabin in Titus, AL. down by the river. During the Civil War it was thought his effort best be at home, so he stayed and made tools for the war. He was a craftsman and worked with iron and carptentry. After his wife died, he never remarried, the girls kept the house with the help of the neighbors.
