Charles Henderson Martin, retired coal miner, died at 10:35pm last night at his home at Diamond, aged 84 years. He had been in failing health for the past year and was confined to his bed for eight weeks.
Mr. Martin was born at Harmony, a son of William and Margaret Heacox Martin, and had made his home at Diamond for 50 years.
He is survived by the widow, Mrs. Cora Eva Martin; two sons and two daughters, Denver and Earnest C. Martin of Terre Haute; Mrs. Ethel Biller Wilson, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Gladys Gardner of Brazil; also seven grandchildren.
The body was brought to this city and taken to Miller and Sons' Funeral Home and at 2pm Saturday afternoon will be returned to the residence at Diamond where friends may call. At 1 oclock Sunday afternoon funeral services will be held at the residence and burial will be made at Calcutta Cemetery.
