-------------------------

Nancy Eleanor Dillen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dillen, was born August 18, 1884, at Batesville, Mo. Her Saviour called for her February 18, 1944; making her age at time of death 59 years and 6 months.

She was united in marriage to Elijah Ren Maness March 20, 1904. To this union 8 children were born, one of whom died in infancy; seven are still living: Private Gerald E. Maness, of Fort Custer, Michigan; Vera Laws, of Omaha, Nebraska; Chaplain Ralph E. Maness, who is overseas; Arthur Maness, of Elk Creek, Missouri; Marjorie Fugate, of Layton, Utah; Lucy Murrell Smith, of Houston, Mo. and Wayne Maness of Elk Creek, Mo.

Besides the husband and children, she is survived by eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Mattie Fugate, Meadville, Mo.; Rose Maness, El Paso, Texas; four brothers, Grover Dillen, Harrison, Arkansas; Edgar Dillen, Alvord, Texas; Percy Dillen, of U.S. Navy; Roscoe Dillen, of New York; together with many other relatives and a host of friends.

At an early age she accepted Christ as her Saviour and at the time of her death was a member of the Baptist church at Stultz, Mo.

She had lived most of her life at Elk Creek, having moved here at the age of 18.

She was a devoted wife, a kind and loving mother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services were held at Steely Chapel by Rev. J.R. Halbrook, on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 2:00 p.m.

A quartet from Houston, composed of George Harmon, Kenneth Ross, Nadine Coats and Wanda Jean Davis, with Mrs. Dona Roderick at the piano, furnished very appropriate music.

Pallbearers were long time friends, J.H. Rimel, R.B. Grisham, Grover Denney, Carl Waters, John Unger, and W.E. Kile.
