WILLIAM WEBSTER EGBERT –

William Webster Egbert, eldest son of Jonathan and Elizabeth, was born in Martinville, Morgan County, Indiana, February 12, 1867 and passed away at his home in Cimarron, February 16th, 1950. He became a member of the Christian Church when a boy in Indiana.
He came with his parents to Gray County in October 1886, and located in the Gray Center neighborhood where he engaged in farming until he retired and moved to Cimarron in 1921.
On December 30, 1897 he was united in marriage to Minnie Land. To this union two children were born Ruth E. Perry of Garden City and Francis Egbert of Cimarron. Other survivors are grandchildren Eldon L. Earl of Garden City, Kansas, Francis Egbert Jr. of Pierceville, Kansas. Donald and Dorothy Egbert of Cimarron, two great grandchildren Sharon Ann Egbert and Ruth Elaine Earl, one brother, Dr. Roy Egbert of Indianapolis, Ind., three sisters, Cora Mosbarger of Center, Colorado, Beryl Hadfield, Indianapolis, Ind., and Fanny Harkins of Anniston, Alabama and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held February 18th at the Methodist church with Rev. Howard Benton and Rev. M.E. Hickman officiating. Burial was in the Cimarron cemetery." – Jacksonian, February 23, 1950
