CHARLOTTE BASCOM, first wife of Ziba Harrington and mother of his children, was born
October 20, 1805, at Decauter, Otsego County, N.Y.; a daughter of James and
Helena (Wales) Bascom who came from Chester, Mass. Further details with respect
to her parents, brothers and sisters are included in the accompanying sketch for
her sister Helena, wife of Ziba's brother William. She died November l6, 1870
and is buried in the Troy cemetery.
Of the ten children born to Ziba and Charlotte, nine lived to become adults
