Old Soldier Passes Away At Age of Eighty-Nine Years
Death came at 10:00 o'clock Monday evening to Warren Caswell at the age of 89 years. Mr. Caswell had been despondent for the past two years and especially since the death of his wife last November, has expressed a desire to die. His old age and sickness from which he suffered at time were too much for the sufferer.

Mr. Caswell was an old soldier, having served in the Seventh Iowa volunteer infantry in 1864. In 1880 the family moved to Buffalo County and settled on a homestead were Pleasanton now stands. A short time later he moved to Kearney and has lived in this city since that time. A son and a grandson are all of the relatives left to mourn his loss.

Funeral services will be held at the home at 2212 Avenue C on Wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock. obit courtesy of Pritch (#47028758)

He filed a copy of his discharge papers in the Boone co., Illinois court house. Said co. B. 7th Iowa infantry.

Applied for pension 10-1-1890 in Nebraska.
