Mrs. Sellens was a member of the First United Methodist Church, VFW Auxiliary to Post 7428 and held many offices in the United Methodist Women, all of Hoisington.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, of Ellinwood, include a son, Jim Sellens and wife Sharon of Wasilla, Alaska; four daughters, Judy Harmon and husband Roger of Round Rock, Texas, Janice Westrum and husband Gordon of Monument, Colo., Jolene Boys and husband Mike of Great Bend and Demarise Jayne Klir and husband Steven of Denton, Texas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Howard and Harold Bangerter, and four sisters, Isabelle Rose, Maybelle Russe, Pearl Bartles and Bertha Lenk.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Hoisington, with the Rev. Ralph Jarboe, Jr., officiating. Burial will be at the Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 6 until 8 p.m., at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, and from 9:30 to service time Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Woodhaven Care Center Memorial Fund or United Methodist Women in care of the funeral home.
