"Mrs. Louis Staehling Will Be Buried Today"

"Mrs. Louis Staehling, 62, nee Henrietta Hildebrand, native of New Orleans and resident of Biloxi for about 50 years, died yesterday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. at the Biloxi Hospital, having been ill about 12 days. Besides her husband, who is chief oyster inspector of Mississippi, she leaves seven children, Louis and Percy, New Orleans, and Noel, Biloxi; Mrs. Claude Simion, New Orleans, Mrs. Walter Schneller, New Orleans; Mrs. Francis Barthes and Mrs. Elizabeth Nauck, Biloxi; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Darsam, New Orleans, and Mrs. Mary Sauce, Biloxi, and a brother, Jos. Hildebrand. Mrs. Staehling was a lovable character, a devoted wife and mother and kindly neighbor, whose loss will be keenly felt. She was well known, having many friends throughout the Coast and in New Orleans. She was closely affiliated with the Catholic Church, being an active worker in its cause and also was a member of the Woodmen Circle for the past 20 years. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. today from the home, 506 Seal avenue, with interment in the Biloxi cemetery. Among the relatives coming for the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Riebech, Norwood, Ohio, she being Mr. Staehling's sister; Mrs. Wm. Parker, Pascagoula; Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Demourelle, New Orleans; Mrs. Frank Owens, New Orleans; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Simons and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Schneller of New Orleans. Mrs. Sauce, sister of Mrs. Staehling and daughter, Elsie, were called home from Clarksdale, Miss., where they were visiting, because of Mrs. Staehling's death."

"The funeral of Mrs. Louis Staehling, well known Biloxian, who died Monday afternoon, was held yesterday afternoon from the home on Seal avenue with services at the home and church by Rev. Father Keenan of the Church of the Nativity, who preached a fine sermon. The funeral was one of the largest held in Biloxi, and many beautiful flowers banked the casket. The pallbearers were Dr. M. R. Mosley, W. G. Wilkes, Martin Hass, John Schwenck, Chas. Wentzell and W. J. Grant."
