Anthony Edward De Sanctis of Thorndale

Anthony Edward De Sanctis, 82, of Thorndale, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Lankenau Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of Lucy Lena Calvano De Sanctis, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage.
He was the cherished father of Anthony S. De Sanctis of Wayne, Maria A. Gallagher of Wagontown, Jean M. Lewis of Downingtown and Rose Marie De Sanctis of New York City, and was adored by 10 beloved grandchildren.
Born June 3, 1925, in South Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Romeo De Sanctis and Guglielimina Prosperi, and adored brother of Helen Marchesano and the late Enes Henseling.
Anthony attended Girard Elementary, Vare Junior High School and Southern High School, graduating in 1943.
A decorated sharpshooter in the U.S. Marine Corps, Anthony proudly served his country in World War II.
He operated his own beauty salon for several years. He worked as a supervisor for Philadelphia Gear Corp. in King of Prussia for 40 years, retiring in 1990.
A member of St. Paul's Church in Norristown for 12 years, he was an active and founding member of the Norris Hills Civic Association. Since 1972, he was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Coatesville.
He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Phillies, and was also a St. Louis Cardinals fan.
He enjoyed coaching his children in Little League baseball and softball. He loved dancing, pinochle, bowling and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He never missed a game!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Monday, July 16, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Ave., Coatesville.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, July 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, and on Monday, July 16, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, West Chester.

Anthony Edward De Sanctis, 82, of Thorndale, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Lankenau Hospital.
