Arletta Mae Mongold, 54, of Mathias, died Saturday, April 6,
1996 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She had been in
failing health for a number of months.

Mrs. Mongold was born March 5, 1942 in Petersburg, WV, and
was the daughter of Odie Whetzel Mongold of Petersburg and
the late William John Mongold.

She had worked a number of years at H. D. Lee Inc. in
Broadway and the last number of years she did baby sitting.
She was a member of the Mathias Assembly of God Church and
attended the Mathias Pentecostal Church.

On October 20, 1961 she married George William Mongold who
died April 12, 1992.

Surviving besides her mother are two sons, Charles W. and
George D. Mongold, both of Mathias; one step-daughter,
Madeline Carr of Bergton; two brothers, Donald Mongold of
Petersburg, WV; two sisters, Naomi Ketterman of Petersburg
and Geraldine Long of Maysville; three grandchildren; and
two step-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Tuesday at the Mathias Assembly
of God Church by the Pastors David Coyle and Arlena Mongold.
Burial was in the Mongold Family Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Grandle
Funeral Home in Broadway.
