OBITUARY:
Don Richard Conrad
Sept. 2, 1939-Jan. 6, 2010
IRRIGON - Don Richard Conrad, 70, of Irrigon died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2010, at his home. A celebration of life gathering will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23 at the Enterprise VFW Hall. A private family burial will be held at the Enterprise Cemetery.
Mr. Conrad was born Sept. 2, 1939, in Enterprise to Gilbert and Mariam Thompson Conrad. He was raised and attended school in Wallowa County. He served in the Army and then returned to Wallowa County. He married Nathiel I. "Nate" Isley in 1958 in Joseph.
He worked for Wallowa County Grain Growers as a mechanic for several years and then as an equipment operator for the Wallowa County Road Department until retiring in 1998. They moved to Irrigon in 2006.
Mr. Conrad is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nate Conrad of Irrigon; son Russell Conrad of Island City; daughters Debra Hansen of Irrigon and Denine Rautenstrauch of Enterprise; stepfather Everett Tucker of Hermiston; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Irrigon City Library or the Enterprise City Library.
