Mrs. Sarah O. Long [sic]

The body of Mrs. Lang, 94, who died Friday morning, was to be shipped to Spokane at noon today. She is the mother of Mrs. Charles Harlin and Mrs. W.D. McGowan. The latter is accompanying the body.

Funeral services will be held from the Hazen & Jaeger funeral home, North Monroe St., in Spokane Tuesday. Burial will be in the RIverside cemetery. Jones & Jones were in charge of local arrangements.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harlin and Mrs. Barbara Hopkins will motor to Spokane Sunday for the services.

Mrs. Sarah O. Lang

Mrs. Sarah O. Lang, 90 [sic], died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Harlin, 784 Monroe street, after a day's illness. Born Feb. 21, 1845, in Rensselaer, Ind., she was the daughter of pioneer settlers in the Ohio valley. She grew up there and June 15, 1865, married Fredrick J. Lang. They moved to Indianapolis, living there until 1885 when they returned to Rensselaer. In 1907 she came west, locating at Spokane.

Surviving are one son, Thomas G. Lang of Indianapolis; six daughters, Mrs. Margaret Huston of Rensselaer, Mrs. Barbara Hopkins of Portland, Mrs. V.H. Thornton and Mrs. Carl [Jessie] Hedenberg, both of Spokane, Mrs. Charles [Lillie] Harlin and Mrs. W.D. [Lennie] McGowan of Wenatchee; 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

The body will be shipped to the Hazen and Jaeger funeral home in Spokane for funeral services. Jones & Jones are in charge of local arrangements.

Lang, Sarah O. - Her home was at W33604 Longfellow. Mother of Mrs. Jessie V. Hedenberg and Mrs. Viola Thornton, both of Spokane; Mrs. Lily M. Harlan and Mrs. Lennie E. McGowan, both of Wenatchee, Wn.; Mrs. Barbara E. Hopkins, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Maggie R. Huston, Rensselaer, Ind.; George Thomas Lang, Brownsburg, Ind.; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. She was a resident of Spokane this last 32 years. Funeral Tues., Oct. 24, at 11:30 a.m. from the Alwin Chapel at the Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, N1306 Monroe st., M.O. Field of Salem, Ore., a personal friend of the family, will officiate. Interment Riverside Park.
