Suggested edit: Henry was drafted as a private 1814-11-16 under Capt. Joseph Rich, Col, Baylass in War of 1812. He was held in reserve at the Battle of Mobile Bay in New Orleans, LA. He walked out onto the battlefield after the battle had ended. He was mustered out of service 1815-06-16. In 1837 he bought a farm in Perry Twp, Miami Co, IN as an early settler. He lived there until his death & was buried on the farm which became the Shoemaker Cemetery.
