Retired Ripley County Farmer Succumbs to Long Illness – Funeral Wednesday
James Rimstidt, 79 years old, well known Ripley county retired farmer, passed away at his home near Mud Pike, east of Napoleon, at 2:30 o'clock Monday morning following a lingering illness. Funeral services will be held at Napoleon Wednesday afternoon.
One son, Philip Rimstidt, of Goshen, and two daughters, Mrs. Fred Sellmeyer, of Philo, Ill., and Mrs. Addie Heuneke, with whom he made his home, survive.
Mr. Rimstidt was trustee of Delaware township, where he spent almost his entire life and was county commissioner of Ripley county for one term. He was a brother of the last Joseph Rimstidt, father of Burney Rimstidt, of this city. The deceased is the last of the elder Rimstidt family, the brother, Joseph, having passed away three years ago.
