The 10th of May inst., died at Litchfield, in Connecticut, Mr. Benjamin Gibbs, in the 93d Year of his Age; who altho' he was a Batchelor of 32 Years of Age when married to his only Wife, who departed this Life aged exactly 80 Years, upon the 20th of January last. The enjoyed great Harmony in the marriage State the whole Time thereof, which was above 58 Years. They had 10 Sons, and four Daughters, 11 of which survive. Mr. Gibbs has left a numerous and industrious Offspring from his own Loyns, which, altho' it is not yeet extended beyond Great Grand-children, consists of 112 Persons now living, besides 30 that have died, 142 in all. His eldest Son is Capt. Benjamin Gibbs of Litchfield, who could muster a considerable Band of good Soldiers, out of said Family, for the Defense of our Country, should the same be invaded by foreign Enemies, or domestic Traitors.
