Charles died at age 92 at the Randolph County Nursing Home in Sparta.

He was the son of the late Matthew T. and Mary Mathews Henderson.

On 20 Sep 1917, Charles married Ethel Mae McKinley. Charles and Mae had the following children: Wanda Marie, Maxine Mae, June Lorene, and one son Roy.

Mae preceded Charles, dying in 1957. On December 23, 1958 he married Martha Anderson, who survives him.

The obit lists the following survivors: his wife; two daughters Maxine Pooler and June Carter; one brother Roy Henderson; one sister Della Vaughn; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
