Third child of James Henry Clemons (1850-1926)and Arabella Bartholomew (1857-1933). Married Naomi Phinney (1885-1973) on 6 Jun 1906 in Port Henry, Essex Co., NY. Served as Town Clerk of Dresden (Clemons) 1913-1918.

Children: George L. Clemons (1907-1985), Robert H. Clemons (1909-1986), Dorothy A. Clemons (1913-1970).

The funeral of Ernest L. Clemens was held this afternoon from the home and the Baptist Church at Clemens, Washington County, and interment was in the family lot there. Mr. Clemens, who was thirty-six years of age. died Friday after a brief illness with pneumonia. He went to work as telephone operator at Chubb's Dock when only thirteen years of age, and for more than ten years was train dispatcher for The Delaware and Hudson Company at Albany and in Pittsburgh Returning to his home In Clemens several years ago he had since been engaged with his father, James H. Clemens, in conducting a general store. He was Town Clerk in Dresden and Washington County Game Warden. He Is survived by his wife. who was Naomi Phinney of Port Henry, and 3 children.
