Frank worked at various times as a chauffeur, an auto salesman, and a real estate salesman. In the 30s, he owned the Seventh Avenue Cafe in Phoenix; later he and Florida owned and operated a motel. Frank had been injured in an industrial accident in 1914 which resulted in the amputation of his left hand. In the late 50s, we visited the Useltons in Arizona and I was in awe (and wary) of the hook that replaced that hand. Although I don't recall seeing it, my mother was more impressed to note that he kept a six-shooter in a holster hanging from the bedpost.
Frank was married in 1919 in Yuma to Lennis Edna Jean Ballew with whom he had 2 daughters, Mary Ellen & Frankie L., and a son, Junior F., who died at 4 months of age. Florida Jackson was his second wife.
