Martin L. Boone was a farmer and a soldier in the 1st King's Infantry Regiment of Mississippi State Troops during the Civil War. He was a representative from Rankin County to the state Democratic Party convention in 1852. Mr. Boone purchased a tract of 199 acres in Section 23, Township 3, Range 5, for $24.89, in a land sale recorded in Rankin Co., MS. The date of this sale was 1 Jan 1855. He received patent to an undescribed tract of land in Rankin County in 1859. He first married Affine Fussell in 1846. She died in 1849, and he next married Angeline Gill in 1850. Angeline died between 1867-1869, and Martin married Mary Miranda Purvis some time after that.
