Craig Hiller, a life long resident of Kahoka, died at the University hospital in Iowa City, Iowa on April 2.
Craig was born in Kahoka on July 31, 1908. He attended the public schools here and graduated from Kahoka High School in 1925. He studied at Lombard College, Galesburg, IL, and the University of Arizona and then transferred to the law school at the University of Missouri, finishing his law course in 1931. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.
After admission to the bar he became associated with his father, Chas. Hiller, in the practice of law at Kahoka, which association lasted until his father's death in 1940. It is significant to note here that Craig, his father, Charles Hiller, and his grandfather, Hiram M. Hiller, practiced law continuously in Kahoka for more than 100 years.
Craig Hiller served as city attorney for Kahoka for several years and was elected prosecuting attorney of Clark County for eight consecutive terms.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia S. Hiller, to whom he was married on June 22, 1932; one brother Hugh M. Hiller of Kansas City and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church in Kahoka on Wednesday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m., conducted by Rev. Virgil Caulk.
Pallbearers were Frank Cottey, Wm. D. Orcutt, Kenneth J. Isely, James Duffy, Robert Threlkeld and Harold Bair.
