Sad Accident
A Son of Col. C.M. Alexander Drowned While Skating
Yesterday afternoon, while skating on the Potomac with a number of companions, Charles Percy Alexander, son of Colonel C.M. Alexander, fell through the ice and was drowned. His companions called frantically for aid and some workmen on the Long Bridge went to their assistance and finally recovered the body, which was at once taken to the residence of his parents, corner of 9th Street and Massachusetts Avenue. The grief of his parents can better be imagined than described when the dead body of their son, stark and stiff and with the skates still strapped to his feet, was brought to the home which but a few hours before he had left in the full flush of health. The deceased was about fifteen years of age and was highly esteemed by his young companions and by all who knew him. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.
