Jack was born in Rose Creek, Minnesota on December 8, 1910, the third of nine children of James and Catherine Cawley. He was a career US Navy man, enlisting during WWII and retiring as Senior Chief. He had a second career as a metalsmith at the University of Washington. Jack was survived by his wife of 64 years, Frances, and three sisters, Margaret Quale, Louise Brown and Lacena Regan, and many nieces and nephews.
