H. G. Mason died at the home of his sister in Los Angeles, Calif., last Tuesday, the 17th. Mr. Mason was born July 18, 1886, to Cornelius and Frances Slater Mason, early settlers of Gull Prairie. He was the grandson of the late Rev. Leonard Slater, who was a missionary to the Indians. On December 3, 1889, he married Flora Gibson of Cloverdale, who died February 12, 1929. Mr. Mason married Florence Barnes Gibson in 1931. She survives him. Mr. Mason was a life member and treasurer of the Masonic lodge. He was also a member of the Richland Presbyterian church. Survivors include the widow, one sister, Mrs. Edith Granger, Los Angeles; one brother, Edwin, Richland; one son. Claude, of Kalamazoo; two grandsons, Hobart and Kirby, and two great-grandchildren, all of Richland. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Richland church, with Rev. Felix officiating.
