He was born on November 23, 1936 in Scottsburg, Indiana, the son of the late William D. and Gola Gladys (Cox) Bright.
He was married on May 25, 1958 to Wilma "Billie" (Wells) Bright, who survives him.
Wayne was a self employed siding contractor for the old Bright Applicators in Scottsburg, Indiana, a member of the First Christian Church and served during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, Rick (Angie) Bright and Rusty (Laura Beth) Bright both of Scottsburg, Indiana; three brothers, Hatch, Jerry and Roger Bright all of Scottsburg, Indiana; three sisters, Imogene Pruitt and Patty York both of Scottsburg, Indiana and Faye Jaynes of Austin, Indiana. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Jennifer, Erica, Jessica and Taegen Bright, Lexxi Warren, Abigail Lakins, Nathaniel and Tristen Rowland. and two great grandcildren, Maddy Stallings and Kaylin Pelfrey.
He was preceded in death by: a brother and sister, Richard Donald and Donna Darlene Bright.
Interment will be in Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, Indiana with Military Graveside Services being conducted by the Crothersville V.F.W. Post # 1083 Honor Guard
