Caroline E. Armenta, xxx Greenleaf Drive, died Friday at her home. She was 85. Mrs. Armenta, a homemaker, had been a resident of Grand Junction for seven years. She was born April 7, 1904 to Zenobio and Inez O'Cana Romero in La Garita She spent her childhood in La Garita and attended schools in Del Norte. She married Solomon Joseph Armenta in May 1921 in La Garita. Mr. Armenta, a farmer and rancher, died in 1944. She had lived in La Garita, Denver, Pueblo, Salida and Grand Junction. Mrs. Armenta belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Society at Salida. Survivors include two sons, Pete and Dave Armenta, both of Pueblo; three daughters, Inez Manchego and Margurite Sack, both of Salida, and Edna Wait of Grand Junction; 22 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren. A son, Joe, is deceased. A Mass of Christian Burial will be in Salida. Lewis and Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements in Salida.
