JANET VIRGINIA PFEIFFER (nee WAXTER), 83, of Severn (formerly of Brooklyn Park), Maryland passed away on Jan 9, 2010 after a short illness.
Janet was born to Fannie (Stallings) and Milton Waxter on March 8, 1926 in Baltimore, MD. She married James Aurvin Pfeiffer in 1943. They were married for 54 years. She attended Glen Burnie High School. She was employed as a medical assistant for Drs. Berdann and Krieger in Brooklyn Park for 36 years before retiring in 1993. Janet enjoyed gardening, crocheting, bus trips and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister, Merle Meyer, and one great-granddaughter, Michelle Diann Daniel.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Virginia "Ginger" and Jim Atchison; daughter, Gale Daniel; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Marshall Anservitz; son and daughter-in-law, James "Jay" and Pat Pfeiffer; and son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Cathy Pfeiffer. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Frank S. and Ruth Waxter; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Singleton Funeral & Cremation Service PA, 1 2nd Ave SW (at Crain Hgwy), Glen Burnie from 3-5 & 7-9. A service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, Jan 14, at 10 AM at Pasadena United Methodist Church. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery.
