"LOSES NINE YEAR FIGHT FOR HEALTH"

"Albert Gill, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. J. Gill, 423 East Water Street, died this morning at 11:05 o'clock at the Biloxi Hospital where he had been for about three weeks. Mr. Gill was injured in a football scrimmage about nine years ago. He later developed septic poisoning. Besides his parents, he leaves six sisters, Marie, Juliet, Laura, Nathalia, Mollie and Shirley, and three brothers, P. J., Charles and William. During the past nine years he has been ill much of the time. He spent 8 months in Biloxi Hospital and 2 years in a cast on his back at his home, and also was in Memphis for one month for treatment, but the futile nine-years' efford for the restoration of his health ended today with his death. Mr. Gill was well liked by a great many friends in Biloxi who watched with interest his brave but losing fight for his health. He had been employed at Biloxi night clubs when he was able to work. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday from the Bradford Parlors with services at the Church of the Nativity."

Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Records, Book 27, pg 1: Albert was 24 years, 1 month, 6 days old when he died at Biloxi Hosp. from "pulmonary tb acute secondary to tubercular osteophitis". He was a manager of a night club and was single. He lived at 423 East Water St.
